We're looking for multiple Yard Operatives / Shunters to join a busy site in the Loughborough area. The perfect opportunity for Rail accustomed candidates, this role offers consistent hours, strong pay rates and the chance to be part of a key operational team.
The Role and About You:
You’ll be working as part of a team responsible for the safe and efficient movement of Railway Wagons and Engines across a large industrial site. This is a physically demanding role where you’ll be on your feet for most of the shift, carrying out a variety of operational duties. The role is heavily focused on shunting, alongside wagon inspections, coupling and uncoupling, and general yard duties. Work ethic is key - this environment suits someone reliable, motivated and ready to get stuck in. You can expect to walk up to 15,000 steps per day, so a good level of fitness is essential. This is a Monday to Friday role with fixed shifts: Days: 05:30am – 04:30pm (11‑hour shift; 10 hours paid + 1‑hour paid break) Nights: 05:30pm – 04:30am

- Shunting and positioning wagons across site
- Coupling and uncoupling wagons safely
- Carrying out routine wagon inspections
- Driving vehicles within the yard (where required)
- Following strict health and safety protocols
