Overview
Train Bathroom & Toilet Maintenance Operative
London (Bexley/Dartford area) • Contract Type 3 Month (View to extend) • Hours 4 on / 4 off (2 early shifts 06:00-16:00, 2 late shifts 14:00-00:00) • £19.50 per hour (PAYE) / £25.35 per hour (Umbrella) • Start: Immediate subject to medical & drug/alcohol screening.
What the role involves
- Cleaning, repairing, and maintaining toilets, sinks, and other bathroom fixtures.
- Fixing leaks, broken fittings, or damaged surfaces.
- Ensuring safety, hygiene, and functionality standards are met on every shift.
- Managing tools, parts, and stock efficiently and reporting maintenance needs.
- Operating across the train fleet in a mobile, field-based capacity.
Who we\’re looking for
- Experience in plumbing, mechanical fitting, or maintenance, ideally with an NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience in a trade or facilities background. Commercial or transport experience preferred.
- Comfortable with dirty or challenging environments, including dealing with human waste.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality compliance standards.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work alone or in a team.
- Rolling stock experience and PTS certification desirable but not essential – full training provided.

4 on / 4 off (2 early shifts 06:00-16:00, 2 late shifts 14:00-00:00)
