As Lead Electrical Engineer, you won’t just execute projects, you will own them. From the first bid to the final commissioning of flagship assets, this is your chance to lead the engineering delivery of a sustainable future.
The Role and Your Impact
As the Electrical Engineering Lead, your immediate focus will be the delivery of a 50MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Joining as the Electrical Design phase kicks off, you will have the critical window to influence the technical blueprint and establish a direct partnership with the client before the main installation begins. However, this project is only the starting point. You will be the engineering cornerstone of this division. Beyond the initial 50MW site, you will provide the technical credibility and engineering heavy lifting required to secure and scale the future portfolio. With an identified pipeline exceeding 1GW, your role will evolve to include:
- Work Winning & Bid Support: Acting as the technical authority during the tender phase to provide clients with the confidence that to deliver complex, large-scale HV assets.
- Engineering Leadership: Setting the standards for BESS design and delivery, ensuring a reputation for excellence to facilitate repeat business.
- Project Ownership: Taking end-to-end responsibility from design and construction through to energisation, DNO approvals, and final handover.
You will naturally have previous experience delivering end to end HV projects, understanding the technical challenges and rigour required to move a project from preliminary designs to a fully energised asset with DNO approvals and acceptance. Are you a Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (ideally Chartered or working towards) who has outgrown the confines of a traditional design desk? We are looking for a high-EQ 'all-rounder' who thrives on the variety of the full project lifecycle. This role requires more than technical expertise; it needs a pragmatic leader who can build trust with all stakeholders and navigate the site-based challenges of a major HV installation, as well as having the commercial awareness to identify early-stage opportunities for future growth.

You will be joining the UK division of a multinational EPC organisation with a 40-year track record of delivering complex energy infrastructure across the globe. Following the recent successful completion of a similar HV programme in the north of England, the business is now focused on Swindon as part of its continued UK expansion. While backed by global resources, the UK business operates with a flat management structure, offering you the autonomy to make decisions on-site without corporate bottlenecks.
