Our client is a multi-disciplinary infrastructure company delivering specialist solutions across rail, civils, and plant sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and collaborative working, their technical team provides expert geotechnical support across a range of UK infrastructure projects.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Geotechnical Team. This role is responsible for managing ground investigation (GI) projects from inception through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial success while leading a small project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage geotechnical projects from award through to successful completion.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, including supervision, programming, and health & safety.
  • Prepare and manage H&S documentation, risk assessments, and environmental plans.
  • Coordinate surveys, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Ensure project delivery meets programme, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
  • Produce accurate reporting, cost reconciliation, and performance reviews.
  • Uphold high HSQE standards.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in a geotechnical discipline with 5–10 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GI techniques, BS(EN) standards, and related codes of practice.
  • Proven experience managing multiple geotechnical or civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent communicator with strong leadership and client management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, project reporting, and data presentation.
  • CSCS (Manager level), SMSTS, and CDM Regulations 2015 training preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across multiple project sites.
