Our client is expanding their specialist design team and is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions across major UK water industry projects.
What You’ll Do
- Design mechanical solutions that meet safety, quality, and technical standards
- Produce design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications
- Direct and support CAD technicians
- Prepare scopes and review outputs from subcontract M&E design teams
- Liaise with suppliers, review tenders, and specify equipment
- Carry out design investigations and technical reporting
- Ensure design changes are tracked and fully implemented
- Estimate design hours and support project planning
- Present designs and attend stakeholder and client meetings
You’re a practical, detail-focused engineer who understands water industry standards and enjoys seeing your designs come to life. You bring:
- 5+ years’ mechanical design experience within the UK water industry
- Graduate, HND, or strong technician-level experience
- Good IT and design software skills
- Registered with a professional body and working toward chartership
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Chartered Engineer status
- Wastewater & clean water (infra and non-infra) project exposure
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and drawing practices
The Projects You’ll Work On
- UMON 3 & 4 upgrades at sewage treatment works
- Mechanical design for wastewater and clean water treatment facilities
- Both infrastructure and non-infrastructure programmes
Competitive salary or strong contract rates (Outside IR35)
