I'm working with a growing engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Rail Systems Engineer to support the delivery of multidisciplinary rail projects from concept through to preferred option. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineering teams, ensuring complex rail systems are fully integrated, compliant, and deliverable across a wide range of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of early-stage rail projects, from feasibility and concept design through to preferred option.
  • Apply systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements management, design integration, verification and validation.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces across multidisciplinary rail systems, including telecommunications.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, interface documentation, requirements and engineering reports.
  • Review engineering designs to ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards and best practice.
  • Support design reviews, hazard workshops and technical assurance activities.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, opportunities and engineering challenges throughout project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, operators, suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Support the Senior Engineering team across a variety of rail infrastructure projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Rail Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary rail systems and how they integrate.
  • Experience coordinating technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of rail industry standards, engineering assurance processes and PACE.
  • Understanding of the engineering project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and engineering health & safety principles.
  • Ability to produce clear, high-quality technical documentation.
