The Company
Our client is an exciting and well-regarded specialist offering a comprehensive range of material testing services to ensure materials meet specified standards and requirements. Established more than 35 years ago, they provide full testing, analysis and expert interpretation for clients across various industries including automotive and aerospace. With their forensic engineering and materials consultancy, they provide clients with insights and technical solutions, positioning them as a trusted partner to some of the UK's most prestigious blue-chip manufacturers. Due to their growth plan, they are now looking for a Sales Engineer to join the team.
The Role
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for growing the client base. Utilizing their onsite lab, they work with any product manufacturers with a need for their materials to be tested. This is a highly consultative sales role; an interest or some experience in building relationships and selling a technical service and solution is required.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- 80% new business development – generating RFQs for services.
- Discussing materials testing services with prospective clients to understand solutions you can provide to their problems.
- Liaising with the in-house technical testing laboratory for technical details required for quotes.
- New business channels will include trade shows, LinkedIn research, marketing leads, general company lists.
- Targeting both SME and larger blue-chip customers.
- Typical points of contact: engineering, quality and testing departments.
- Attending customer visits 1–2 days per week to discuss requirements and which services can be provided – a pool car will be provided for customer visits.
The Candidate
