A UK engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their fabrication team.
Location: Huddersfield
Hours: 38.75 hours per week
Work schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:00pm; Friday 7:00am - 11:45am
Overtime: Paid after 38.75 hours at time and a half
Salary: 30,517 - 41,820 (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily fabrication operations within the production team
- Manufacture and finish components to company specifications and quality standards
- Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Work with steel and fabricated components in line with production requirements
- Prioritise workload in line with project plans and deadlines
- Ensure work is completed within cost and time targets
- Assist with maintenance of equipment when required
- Support quality assurance procedures and company standards
- Contribute to R&D and process improvement activities where required
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
- Experience with welding and fabrication processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong planning and workload management skills
- Awareness of health and safety in a workshop environment
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication
- Stainless steel fabrication experience
- Experience in FMCG industries (food, beverage, pharma, etc.)
- Background in a structured fabrication department
