We’re looking for a Traffic Marshall / Depot Support Operative to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and supporting day-to-day depot activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy rail operator, in one of their key train maintenance locations. You will predominantly be supporting the depot logistics & warehousing team, whilst working closely with the train presentation department. Key Responsibilities: Banksman / Traffic Marshalling- Direct and guide vehicle movements safely within the depot and surrounding areas – 2 large HGV fuel deliveries per day that you will fully manage HSE and marshalling for Communicate clearly with drivers using standard hand signals and radio equipment Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Monitor and manage traffic flow to prevent congestion and hazards Depot Support - Assist with loading and unloading deliveries alongside the stores team Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the depot (car park & yard) Support with driving requirements – courier between locations using company vehicles, if additionallicences / plant tickets in place then use of other plant/machinery to support movements Support the train presentation team where needed with provision of materials and equipment for the team to carry out their duties and hands on cleaning of train interiors if necessary Experience & Qualifications: Essential- Valid Traffic Marshall / Banksman certification or similar internal training or work experience guiding safe movements of vehicles Full valid UK driving licence Strong awareness of health and safety procedures Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude Desirable- Previous experience in a traffic marshall, warehouse movements or depot support, movements or banksperson role Any additional plant tickets or licences such as FLT would be highly desirable On Offer: Working for a large rail company you will be part of a team that delivers over 100 million passenger journeys a year.
