Crane Maintenance Engineer in Southampton

Crane Maintenance Engineer  Dock Gate 20, Southampton   £38,940 per annum (35-hour contract)  £55,756 per annum (8 week ,42-hour average continental shift pattern)  Overtime opportunities  Permanent, Full-Time  Hours of Work:  12-hour day and night shifts (6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am) on an 8-week rotating continental shift pattern, averaging 42 hours per week, including weekends.  Please note: This is a Safety Critical position.  Key Responsibilities:  Carry out maintenance, inspections, fault finding, repairs, and servicing of Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) cranes and associated plant equipment.  Maximise asset reliability and availability while meeting operational requirements.  Complete engineering examinations and maintenance activities in line with company procedures.  Maintain accurate maintenance, defect, and repair records.  Use Freightliner IT systems effectively to support engineering activities.  Support the training and development of apprentices and new team members.  Work flexibly within your skills and competencies to support business needs.  The role is approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical.  Key Requirements: Recognised electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).  Experience with AC/DC motors, ABB drives, and industrial electrical systems.  PLC experience, including Siemens S7 and CODESYS.  Mechanical maintenance experience is desirable.  Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.  Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.  Full UK driving licence.  Ability to work at height.  Flexible, proactive approach with a strong safety focus.  Why Join Us?  Competitive Salary & Benefits  Competitive pension scheme, paid breaks, and free on-site parking.  Career Development and Progression  Access to external training courses and in-house development programmes to support your career growth.  Award-Winning Safety Culture  Work within a business recognised for excellence, innovation, and high safety standards.
