Ready to take ownership of the commercial picture, not just the numbers? We're recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or commercial professional to support a growing pipeline of engineering projects. If you bring strong NEC knowledge and enjoy turning complex project changes into clear commercial outcomes, this could be your next move.

A role with clear commercial ownership:

  • You'll work closely with the Project Manager and Planner, taking responsibility for the commercial side of projects while the Project Manager focuses on execution and delivery.
  • From reviewing scope and controlling costs to managing change and agreeing final accounts, you'll help keep commercial risks visible and contractual processes on track.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of engineering and industrial projects, ensuring NEC contract processes are followed correctly.
  • Leading cost control, forecasting and cost value reconciliation (CVR) reporting.
  • Managing change control, variations and compensation events, ensuring scope changes are recorded and properly valued.
  • Managing extensions of time and delay mechanisms, working with the Planner to assess programme impacts and commercial implications.
  • Working with subcontractors and managing subcontract and purchase agreements.
  • Maintaining robust commercial records and identifying risks and potential business exposure throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting project teams through commercial close-out and final account.

Why this could be your next move:

This opportunity puts your commercial expertise at the centre of engineering project delivery. You'll have a clear remit, close collaboration with project colleagues and the chance to apply your NEC knowledge across a growing project pipeline.

What you'll bring:

You'll have a strong Quantity Surveying or commercial background, with a good understanding of mechanical installation and engineering projects, supported by sound commercial and contractual knowledge. NEC experience is important — particularly compensation events, change control, variations, extensions of time and delays, alongside experience of working closely with a Planner. We're particularly interested in backgrounds within engineering or M&E, manufacturing or industrial projects, infrastructure or civils, utilities, food and beverage, chemical or pharmaceutical projects, or automated production and process environments. Coming from a traditional construction or building QS background? We'd also welcome your application if you can demonstrate strong transferable NEC and engineering project experience. Engineering or industrial experience is preferred.

Let's talk about your next move:

If you're a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, Commercial QS, Commercial Manager or Engineering QS looking to put your experience to work on engineering projects, we'd like to hear from you. Apply with your CV or get in touch to discuss how your experience fits the role.
