The Opportunity
Our client, a leading Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor, is delivering major infrastructure works on the Sizewell C project and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen the commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, taking responsibility for key work packages while working alongside an experienced commercial leadership team. You'll be involved throughout the full commercial lifecycle, supporting the successful delivery of complex civil engineering works under NEC contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial delivery of allocated work packages.
- Preparing and maintaining CVRs, forecasts and cost reports.
- Managing subcontract procurement, administration and final accounts.
- Preparing and submitting applications for payment.
- Managing Compensation Events and Early Warning Notices under NEC.
- Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risks.
- Supporting change management and maximising commercial recovery.
- Liaising with project teams, clients and the wider supply chain.
- Ensuring accurate commercial reporting and governance throughout project delivery.
- Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required.
Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within major civil engineering, infrastructure or highways projects.
- Strong NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge.
- Experience managing subcontract accounts from procurement through to final account.
- Strong commercial reporting, forecasting and cost management experience.
- Confident managing change control, Compensation Events and contractual correspondence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable.
- Experience within nuclear, highways, rail, utilities or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
