Freelance Project Quantity Surveyor – Long-Term Education Project

Location: Hull (at least 4 days on site)

Rate: £325 - £400 per day

Contract: Freelance / Contract

Duration: 18 months

Are you an experienced Freelance Project Quantity Surveyor looking for a long-term contract on a live education project in Hull? This 18-month opportunity offers a competitive day rate, a stable pipeline of work, and the chance to take commercial ownership of key project packages from start to finish.

Working with an established contractor, you will support the commercial delivery of a construction project within the education sector. The role will suit a commercially astute Project QS who is confident managing subcontract packages, valuations, variations, cost reporting, and final accounts while working closely with site and project teams.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector, ideally with education project experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, ideally including JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
  • Experience managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, commercial reporting, and final accounts
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently on a freelance basis and integrate quickly into an existing project team
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline is desirable
