Machine / Production Operative – 6 Month Contract

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Pay Rate: £17.98 per hour

Contract: 6 Month rolling contract

Shift Pattern

4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights

  • Days: 5:30am – 6:00pm
  • Nights: 5:30pm – 6:00am

The Role

We're looking for 2 experienced Machine / Production Operatives to join a brand-new manufacturing facility in Desford.

Working within the cutting and palletising area, you'll be responsible for operating automated production machinery, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a hands-on role suited to candidates with previous machine operating experience within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor and adjust automated production machinery, including extruders and de-hackers.
  • Ensure machines are running efficiently and safely throughout the shift.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet specification.
  • Identify and report machine faults, defects or production issues.
  • Complete production records and basic system updates.
  • Work to production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all Health & Safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Experience working with automated production equipment is highly desirable.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and confidence making basic machine adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
