Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience working for a specialist subcontractor in the rail, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors? We are recruiting on behalf of a large and highly respected specialist contractor delivering major rail and civil engineering projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of several high-value projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a secured pipeline of work and a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure schemes.
The Opportunity
You'll take commercial ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with project teams, clients, and senior stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and financial performance. The position offers involvement in a flagship, long-term infrastructure project, alongside a major rail civil engineering design and build scheme, providing both stability and variety.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing projects from tender stage through to completion and final account settlement
- Administering and managing NEC3 contracts
- Producing and managing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Pricing and commercially managing smaller works packages
- Providing commercial support to project delivery teams
- Managing self-delivery project costs and performance
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating project risks
- Driving project profitability and ensuring commercial objectives are achieved
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within rail, civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction
- Strong NEC contract knowledge
- Experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- A proactive and commercially focused approach
