Ganymede Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major long-term water infrastructure framework. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior commercial leadership role within one of the UK's largest infrastructure investment programmes. You'll play a key role in delivering a portfolio of major capital projects, leading commercial teams across multiple schemes whilst helping shape the commercial strategy of a growing regional business.

The Role

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for the commercial performance of several projects across a major infrastructure framework. Leading a team of Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors, you'll oversee commercial delivery from procurement through to final account whilst ensuring contractual compliance, effective risk management and strong financial performance.

Working closely with operational teams, clients and the wider leadership team, you'll provide commercial guidance across the full project lifecycle, supporting both project delivery and future business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple infrastructure projects across the framework.
  • Manage and mentor commercial teams, supporting development and maintaining high performance.
  • Ensure accurate CVRs, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Oversee subcontract procurement, administration and final account negotiations.
  • Manage NEC contracts, commercial risk and change control.
  • Produce commercial reports and provide financial updates to senior leadership.
  • Maximise commercial performance whilst protecting contractual entitlement.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
  • Support commercial strategy and continuous improvement across the framework.
  • Ensure commercial governance and best practice is maintained throughout project delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor operating at a leadership level.
  • Strong background delivering civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Experience managing commercial teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong financial reporting, forecasting and commercial management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
