Contract Senior Electrical Design Engineer | Water Industry Manchester | Hybrid (3 Days Office) | £400+ per Day | Outside IR35 | Long-Term AMP8 Programme Are you a Senior Electrical Design Engineer looking for your next long-term contract in the UK water sector?

With AMP8 driving one of the busiest periods the industry has seen, we're recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering consultancy delivering major water and wastewater projects across the UK.

If you're looking for a contract that offers stability, varied projects and the opportunity to make an immediate impact, this could be the perfect fit.

You'll be joining a multidisciplinary design team working on a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects, producing high-quality electrical design deliverables from concept through to construction.

You'll be responsible for: Producing electrical design calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications for water and wastewater projects.

Developing and delivering LV electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirements.

Providing technical direction to CAD technicians, junior designers and graduates.

Directing, preparing scopes for and checking the output of subcontract electrical design teams.

Liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.

Preparing design investigations, technical reports and specifications.

Ensuring designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client specifications and company procedures.

Ensuring project changes relating to design packages are fully implemented and recorded.

Estimating the hours required to deliver electrical design packages.

Attending and presenting at client, supplier and internal design meetings and presentations.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work with an established engineering consultancy experiencing significant growth and a strong pipeline of water and wastewater projects as AMP8 activity increases.

We're looking for Senior Electrical Design Engineers with: Significant electrical design experience within the UK water industry.

Strong experience delivering LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.

A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong knowledge of engineering drawing practices and multidisciplinary design environments.

Experience liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.

Good working knowledge of relevant British Standards, water industry design practices and technical standards.

Experience using Auto CAD and Microsoft Office applications.

The ability to provide technical direction and support to junior designers, CAD technicians and wider project teams.

A professional qualification or experience working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.

Experience in ICA, control systems or telecoms engineering would be advantageous.

Knowledge of ATEX design principles and experience across HV, LV and ICA designs would be advantageous.

What's on offer? £400+ per day depending on experience.
