Ganymede Solutions is working with the largest UK Train Operating Company, which has reported revenues of over £8.9 billion in the last seven years. They are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the Train Presentation team at their Brighton Lovers Walk depot. The client covers Southeast, Greater London, and East Anglia, including Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, London, and Hertfordshire. With a fleet of 516 trains, this role promises an active and busy work environment.
We are looking for someone with a proactive attitude who is not afraid to get involved and can lead by example.
The Role: This role involves all aspects of train cleaning, including exterior and interior cleaning, hoovering floors, and inspecting/maintaining toilets. The position is a night shift role on a 12-week rotating roster. For 8 weeks, shifts are from 22:00 to 06:00, and for the remaining 4 weeks, from 20:30 to 04:30. The average weekly hours are 35. The primary focus is on cleaning the Southern Trains fleet serving Surrey and Sussex, with occasional cleaning of Gatwick Express and Thameslink trains. The role is mainly interior cleaning but also includes exterior cleaning. Typically, one cleaner works with 3 or 4 carriages, usually within a team of up to four people. The depot is sizable, requiring physical fitness to move around comfortably.
Remuneration & Benefits: £15.19 per hour, with a pay increase after 12 weeks due to AWROvertime available at management discretion. Potential for permanent employment after the initial 6-month contract.
