This role is for the commercial leader who can get underneath the numbers, work out what is really happening and help the delivery team do something about it.

We are supporting an established contractor delivering long term property programmes across the UK. They are strengthening their senior commercial capability and need someone who can take ownership of a regional portfolio.

You will take responsibility for the commercial health of several live contracts. That means keeping a firm grip on revenue, cost, margin and cash, while making sure the business protects its contractual position and gets paid correctly for the work delivered. The regional portfolio covers locations across Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Staffordshire, with regular travel to offices and live contracts.

You will spend your time:

  • Reviewing contract performance and challenging anything moving off plan
  • Giving operational leaders clear commercial guidance
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reviews
  • Managing contractual risk and ensuring changes are properly recorded
  • Overseeing subcontract costs, payments and commercial agreements
  • Supporting negotiations with clients and supply-chain partners
  • Improving cash recovery and resolving outstanding commercial issues
  • Providing senior leaders with an honest picture of performance
  • Helping shape the commercial approach to existing and future contracts

This is a visible role with genuine influence. You will not simply report the numbers after the event. You will be expected to help shape decisions while there is still time to improve the outcome.

You will already have senior commercial experience within social housing, property maintenance or a closely related contracting environment. You should be comfortable working with high volume service contracts, understanding complex cost information and interpreting formal contract terms. Knowledge of common construction contract forms will be important, as will the confidence to handle challenging commercial conversations.

A relevant degree or professional qualification would be useful, but your track record of improving financial and contractual performance will matter most.

The position offers a salary of up to £110,000, hybrid working and a wider package covering pension, annual leave, family support, wellbeing and employee benefits.

Ganymede is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of age, disability, gender, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
