Role overview: A mechanical fitting role focused on the maintenance, inspection, and fault-finding of rail wagons. The position uses heavy mechanical skills for component replacements, brake testing, and structural repairs. Suitable for candidates with experience in heavy plant, rolling stock, agricultural machinery, or heavy vehicle mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, and fault-find on rail wagons.
- Perform component replacements and repairs as required.
- Conduct brake testing and assess structural integrity.
Schedule and work pattern
Working strictly between Tuesday and Friday to protect personal time, with a rotating pattern including: 4 day-shifts (Tuesday to Friday) followed by a 3-day weekend, and 3 night-shifts (Tuesday to Thursday) followed by a 4-day weekend.
Qualifications and skills
- Strong heavy mechanical skills relevant to rolling stock or similar heavy machinery.
- Experience in heavy plant, rolling stock, agricultural machinery, or heavy vehicle mechanics is advantageous.
