Quality Engineer

This is an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to move their career in a new direction! The role is to join a Tier 1 Contractor working on infrastructure projects within the local region.
Established as a key partner to their clients, on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. You will be joining an award-winning provider of engineering services into the highways, water, rail and aviation sector. Recognised as being professional and innovative contractors, as part of this team you will be expected to collaborate with cross functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to delivering high-quality projects that exceed customer expectations.

The Opportunity:
You’ll be working on a high-profile rail projects across the North, reporting to the Quality Manager ensuring the project quality is to the design specification for the client, in accordance to the Quality Management System and ensuring that the process is in place to deliver right first time to project specifications. As a talented Quality Engineer you will provide guidance to subcontractors in developing and implementing quality plans, processes and Inspection & Test plans (ITP’s)
The projects rang from Doncaster to Manchester and the North West, therefore 50% of your week will be travelling to various sites, to conduct audits, inspections and attend meetings.
Package:
The company are offering a package of up to £40,000 basic per annum, company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5% matched pension, Health insurance and Life assurance, plus a full range of flexible benefits.

About you:
You do not need to be from a rail background, as my client is keen to review candidates that have worked within other sectors as a Quality Engineer role with exposure to large capital engineering projects such as Highways, Energy, Steel works or Rolling Stock! Your role will be to provide quality improvement performance measures and recommendations reaffirming best practice. Producing reports, promoting continuous improvement culture and managing the NCR. You will also be required to carry out internal audits.
