Press Brake Operative
Location: Derby
Pay: £15 – £16 per hour + holiday pay £1.81–£1.93 per hour.
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:15pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
The Role
I am looking for an experienced Press Brake Operative to join the fabrication team.
This is a hands‑on role working with an Amada HFE 130T 3m 8-axis Press Brake, producing high-quality sheet metal components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances. Experience with laser cutting machinery would also be advantageous, as the workshop operates a Boxford BFL3015 6000W Fibre Metal Laser Cutter.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and programme the Amada HFE 130T Press Brake.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Select and change the appropriate tooling.
- Produce folded sheet metal components to tight tolerances.
- Carry out quality checks and inspections on finished components.
- Adjust machine settings and programmes where required.
- Operate the fibre laser cutter where required and experience allows.
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and report any faults.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work as part of the fabrication team to meet production targets and deadlines.
The Candidate
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience operating and setting Press Brake machinery.
- Experience with Amada Press Brakes would be highly desirable.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
- A good understanding of tooling, bend angles and machine setup.
- Experience with laser cutting machinery would be advantageous.
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
What's on Offer?
