We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist consultancy delivering commercial and project support services across the UK water and utilities sector. The business works closely with major water companies and delivery partners on long-term infrastructure frameworks and capital investment programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement and strong professional development support.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in delivering key frameworks and infrastructure projects across the North and Midlands of England. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. The role is client-facing and will involve managing multiple projects, attending meetings and site visits, and supporting projects from inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Senior Quantity Surveyors in managing projects from inception to completion
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and professional relationships
  • Manage infrastructure projects using NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
  • Undertake estimating and cost planning activities
  • Provide procurement advice and support tender documentation preparation
  • Carry out contract administration and cost control duties
  • Prepare and manage cost reports and forecasts
  • Assist with final account preparation and agreement
  • Attend client meetings and undertake site visits as required
  • Lead or support multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring commercial objectives are achieved
Key Requirements
  • Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within infrastructure, utilities, or construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
  • Post-contract commercial management experience
  • Strong project cost management, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects
  • Willingness to travel to client offices and sites across the North and Midlands as required
Desirable
  • Experience within the water or wider utilities sector
  • Pre-contract and tender documentation experience
  • Working towards or holding MRICS, MCICES, or a similar professional qualification
