Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water

Location: Lincoln / Lincolnshire
Rate: Β£550–£580 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Freelance – Initial 6 Months
Working Pattern: Circa 3 days site/office, 2 days home
Start: ASAP

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major UK infrastructure contractor delivering capital maintenance works across the water sector.

The role will initially be a 6-month contract and will see you joining a close-knit commercial team responsible for delivering a portfolio of capital maintenance schemes across Lincolnshire.

With a number of projects currently working towards key completion dates, we are looking for an experienced commercial professional who can quickly integrate into the team, take ownership of existing schemes and drive them through commercial close-out.

Projects typically range from circa Β£500k up to Β£2m in value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of multiple capital maintenance schemes
  • Taking ownership of projects through to completion and final account
  • Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial administration
  • Assessment and management of variations and change
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and commercial controls
  • Ensuring commercial processes are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Supporting the delivery teams against key programme and completion dates
  • Providing commercial guidance and support to the wider team
  • Supporting and managing junior members of the commercial team where required
  • Working closely with operational and commercial management

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

  • Strong experience working within water, utilities or civil engineering
  • Previous experience delivering capital maintenance or similar infrastructure schemes
  • Strong commercial close-out and final account experience
  • Experience managing multiple smaller-value projects simultaneously
  • Good knowledge of subcontract management, change and cost control
  • Previous experience supporting or managing junior commercial staff
  • The ability to work independently and quickly take ownership of an existing workload
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Previous experience within the water sector would be highly advantageous.
