CNC Turner / Operator | Salary: £27,000–£30,000 DOE
Bradford | Bingley | Shipley | Halifax
Are you an experienced CNC Turner / Operator with a background in manufacturing, looking for your next permanent role? Do you take pride in producing quality components to tight tolerances and have experience working from engineering drawings? Experience setting CNC turning machines would also be a real advantage.
My client is an established manufacturer of industrial process equipment in West Yorkshire, looking for a CNC Turner / Operator to join their machining team. They supply standard and bespoke machinery in the UK and overseas, and quality components are at the heart of what they do.
Set, Operate and Manufacture Quality Components
This is a hands‑on machining role where you’ll be setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce accurate components from engineering drawings. You’ll work with Haas, Eumach and Dah Lih machines, using existing programmes with some minor editing where necessary.
Your responsibilities:
Your day‑to‑day work will involve setting and operating CNC turning machines safely and efficiently, carrying out facing, parting, boring, threading, tapping and drilling, and working to engineering drawings and tolerances. You’ll use existing CNC programmes, make minor edits when needed, inspect finished components and maintain high‑quality standards throughout production. You’ll also keep your work area safe and organised, support stock control and ensure production targets are met.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need practical machining experience, ideally as a CNC Turner, Setter or Operator. You’ll be apprentice‑trained or time‑served, or able to show equivalent practical experience gained in the trade and hold GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent). You’ll be comfortable reading engineering drawings, working accurately to tolerances and checking your own work, with a safe, organised and dependable approach.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a long‑established manufacturer where you’ll receive practical training to develop your setting and programming skills. The role offers a salary of £27,000–£30,000 DOE, with regular weekday hours (Monday to Thursday 8.00am–4.20pm, Friday 8.00am–2.00pm) and overtime available on weekdays and weekends. Benefits include 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a workplace pension, death‑in‑service cover, a MediCash health plan, an Employee Assistance Programme, a Cycle to Work scheme and free on‑site parking.
