As a qualified dual skilled Technician, you will be responsible for keeping a modern fleet of rolling stock operational and safe. Whether you’re from a background in HGV maintenance, aerospace, plant machinery, marine, the armed forces, or REMEs, your transferable skills in heavy maintenance are exactly what is needed to maintain a unique fleet of rail vehicles. You will get the chance to use your engineering skills in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair, while gaining new ones in a long-term career in a specialist sector.
What you will be doing:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and complex repairs on a fleet of specialist rolling stock / rail vehicles.
- Reactive Fault Find & Fix: Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure operational excellence.
- General Support: Carry out essential pre-use checks on tools and equipment, and support key tasks such as topping up fuel and sand levels.
- Safety Critical Work: Adhere to rigorous engineering standards and procedures, ensuring all relevant documentation and asset management systems are accurately completed.
To join the team, you will need to pass a basic DBS check, a Drugs & Alcohol test, and a full rail standard medical.
