I am on the lookout for a Senior Project Manager to lead a large landmark project in the Portsmouth Region. This is a unique opportunity to deliver one of the UK’s most significant water infrastructure schemes, driving design, construction, and commissioning. You’ll collaborate with expert advisers, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure strict adherence to planning, licences, and regulations.
As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of the main contract and associated works. You’ll lead procurement, contractor performance, and governance processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will coordinate activity, resolve challenges, and secure smooth handover into operation through asset integration.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee design, construction, and commissioning of major infrastructure project.
- Produce monthly progress reports and governance approval papers.
- Lead and manage direct reports, supporting their progression and performance.
- Procure and monitor subcontractor packages, ensuring performance against targets.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to secure agreement of delivery plans.
- Ensure delivery aligns with the Clients Health & Safety Management Plan.
- Deliver projects to time, cost, and quality, in line with ODI targets and regulatory allowances.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
- Over 10 years’ experience in design and construction management.
- Proven track record of leading large, complex civil infrastructure projects, ideally in the water sector.
- Experience in reservoir works and / or major earthworks desirable.
- Strong NEC contract management experience (Option C target cost preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical and commercial skills, with ability to manage budgets and risk.
