EC&I Design Engineer (EPLAN) | Rate: Β£47.00 - Β£50.00p/h DOE (Outside IR35)
West Yorkshire | 3-6 Month Contract

Are you an experienced EC&I Design Engineer with strong EPLAN expertise and a background in automated machinery within regulated environments, looking for a hands-on contract with real ownership of your designs? Do you enjoy taking a project from functional specification through to schematics, BOM and panel build?

My client is a key player in the design and build of automated machinery for the pharmaceutical sector, producing equipment that has to meet exacting quality and compliance standards. They require an EC&I Engineer to start immediately on an initial 3-month contract, with potential to extend up to 6 months.

Deliver EC&I Design for Pharmaceutical Machinery

This is a hands-on contract within a busy design team, working across a variety of automated machinery projects at any one time. You'll take ownership of the design process, from electrical and pneumatic schematics through to the BOM and the panel build, working closely with the build team and your fellow engineers.

Your responsibilities:

Your day-to-day work will involve producing key design documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and associated design documents. You'll develop electrical and pneumatic designs, create electrical schematics in EPLAN and compile the Bill of Materials for each build. You'll oversee the panel build process, working with the build team to make sure panels are manufactured in line with the approved design. You'll also peer check colleagues' schematics and design documentation to maintain accuracy, quality and consistency across all projects.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll need a strong background in EC&I design using EPLAN, along with knowledge of fans, valves, valve sets, sensors and instrumentation. You should have previous experience with automated machinery in a regulated environment and the ability to produce high-quality design documentation. You'll also need strong teamwork skills and the ability to hit the ground running from day one.
