- I'm currently recruiting for an experienced
Senior Engineer to join a well-established and respected civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of infrastructure projects across
South Wales .
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious engineer who enjoys working on varied civil engineering schemes and is happy to travel across multiple project locations throughout the region.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Agent or Project Manager, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of civil engineering projects, providing technical expertise, leading engineering activities on site, and mentoring junior engineers.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while supporting project teams from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities across multiple civil engineering projects throughout South Wales.
- Provide technical support to site management teams, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
- Manage, mentor and develop Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information, raising technical queries where required.
- Oversee setting out activities and ensure accuracy across all stages of construction.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs), as-built records and project documentation are completed accurately.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Work collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, designers and key stakeholders.
- Support commercial and operational teams with technical input, change management and programme delivery.
- Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all sites.
- What We’re Looking For
- Minimum
- HNC in Civil Engineering
(Degree preferred).
- Proven experience delivering projects as a
Senior Engineer within the civil engineering industry.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS as a minimum (or SSSTS with a commitment to achieving SMSTS).
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across various sites in South Wales.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and supporting engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of a project.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and civil engineering software such as
Auto CAD, Civil 3D and LSS . Programming knowledge would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of civil engineering principles with a strong focus on delivering projects right first time.
- Working knowledge of
NEC3 and NEC4 contracts , including change management, would be advantageous.
