About Gannon Studios and Lumosia
We are the team behind two of London's most trusted headshot brands. Gannon Studios serves the corporate world, working with City professionals, financial institutions and businesses across the UK with over 1,000 five-star Google reviews to our name. Lumosia serves the performing arts community, helping actors at every level present themselves at their very best. Both brands share a purpose-built studio in the heart of the City of London, minutes from Bank Station, and the same commitment to making every single person in front of our camera look and feel fantastic. We are a small, close-knit team and we are looking for someone quite special to join us as a Studio Photographer.
The right person is not necessarily a photographer. They are someone with an extraordinary ability to connect with people.
The Role
This is not a conventional photography job. At Gannon Studios, the photography can be taught. What cannot be taught is the ability to walk into a room, instantly read the person in front of you and make them feel completely at ease within seconds. One session you might be photographing the actor who voices Peppa Pig. The next you are shooting the CEO of a major insurance company. Both need to feel relaxed, confident and genuinely themselves in front of the camera. That is your job. You will work both in our purpose-built City of London studio and on location at client offices and events across London and beyond.
What You Will Be Doing
- Photographing individuals and teams in our City of London studio and on location
- Quickly building rapport and trust with every subject regardless of background or personality
- Providing confident and encouraging direction to help people look and feel their best
- Working with our full professional studio lighting and tethered shooting setup
- Supporting the smooth running of shoot days including setup, flow and client management
- Representing Gannon Studios and Lumosia to the highest standard at every session
- Travelling to client offices and events across London and occasionally further afield
What We Are Looking For
The most important thing: You are a people person in the truest sense. You can talk to anyone. You adapt your energy instantly. You make people laugh, put them at ease and have them forgetting they are being photographed before the first frame is taken. This is the role above all others.
Background
We are genuinely open minded about where you come from. The following backgrounds often produce exactly the kind of person we are looking for:
- Performing arts, theatre or entertainment
- Sales, account management or client facing roles
- Hospitality, front of house or events
- Teaching, coaching or any role involving building confidence in others
- Photography is a bonus but absolutely not a requirement
Essential qualities
- An extraordinary ability to connect with people quickly and genuinely
- Warm, confident and naturally at ease in social situations
- Adaptable and emotionally intuitive across very different personality types
- Reliable, punctual and professional in representing the studio
- Comfortable travelling to client sites across London and beyond
- Genuinely interested in helping people look and feel their best
Desirable
- Any experience in front of or behind a camera
- An interest in portrait or headshot photography
- Experience working with high profile individuals or corporate clients
What We Offer
- A salary of £25,000 to £28,000 per annum dependent on experience
- Full training in all aspects of our photography and studio workflow
- A genuinely unique role in one of London’s most exciting specialist studios
- Work that is never the same twice
- A friendly, supportive team and a studio you will be proud to be part of
- The opportunity to photograph some of the most interesting people in London
