Who are we looking for?
The Network Solution Architect collaborates closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations to deliver solutions that meet both bespoke project needs and repeatable, standardised architectures. This includes developing patterns and frameworks for hybrid connectivity, SD-WAN, cloud interconnects, and network automation, ensuring consistency and scalability across global deployments.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
The Network Solution Architect is responsible for defining the blueprints and framework for designing product and network solutions, delivered through the IP Engineering Teams and deployed across tactical and strategic Hybrid Cloud, Transit, IXP, CDN, Fabric and Provider/Supplier architectures. Working closely with Stakeholders, OSS/BBS Development, Architects and IP Engineering, the Network Solution Architect will produce bespoke and standardised designs to enable our customers to achieve quality optimised, resilient, flexible and cost-effective connectivity to our products and services, regardless of location, cloud architecture or connectivity platform.
Championing technology and security standards and best practices, the Network Solution Architect will feed their depth of knowledge and expertise into each solution design, whilst maintaining alignment with the network strategy and product roadmaps. They will also form a key part in governance forums and ensure the ongoing conformity to technology and security standards and roadmaps.
The Network Solution Architect will provide Stakeholders and IP Engineering Teams with technology consultancy and design support grounded in both subject matter expertise and experience. They will participate in governance and consultancy for each project, will champion quality and work with the Lead Engineers, Engineers and Managers to ensure roadmap alignment, acting as the bridge between IP Engineering and Architecture, ensuring optimal use of network capacity, infrastructure and assets.
Responsible for technology selection, user experience, security and maintainability and ensuring the solution meets non-functional requirements, including scale, performance and delivery using automation/orchestration where and when available. Support the IP Engineering teams in the preparation and production of Low-Level designs and test automation. Proactively manage and address project risks and issues, escalating to Team Leads/Managers with suggested solutions. Collaborate with Business and Domain Architects to understand the business goals and vision, and to contribute to the strategic Roadmaps.
Must be comfortable communicating across all levels of management and technical capabilities, including Product Management, Development, Pre-Sales, Architects, Engineers, Commercial entities and external providers/suppliers.
What You'll Need:
- A strong networking background encompassing IP, Security and Optical Technologies across Service Provider, Access, Data Centre/Cloud and Management Architectures.
- Deep understanding of IP, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, advanced MPLS, and OTN Technologies and protocols.
- Proven success handling complex projects involving the integration of multiple products and services.
- Automation experience across frameworks, libraries and orchestration tools using Python, Terraform, Ansible, PyTest, Jenkins, GitLab etc.
- Proficiency in modern DevOps practices and tooling.
- Certifications such as Cisco's CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Juniper's JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent.
