Who are we looking for?

Providing exceptional technical support and customer service to internal users across Gamma. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently handle incoming IT requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution or escalation to the appropriate support level.

What will you be doing day‑to‑day?

  • Building laptops and accounts for new staff as well as completing the IT enrolment for each new person into Gamma.
  • To be a first point of contact for all IT Service requests and incidents that are reported either via phone, walk up or self‑service tickets that have been logged.
  • Quickly and accurately assess the nature of all reported incident and requests, providing a solution where possible and escalating to 2nd line when needed.
  • Perform troubleshooting to be able to identify root causes of issues and apply appropriate fixes or work‑arounds.
  • To assist users in utilising Gamma IT systems, this includes providing unofficial training as needed.
  • To document the interactions within the ticket management tool which includes but is not limited to all troubleshooting steps taken and what resolved the issue.
  • To provide support for all software and hardware.
  • User account provisioning and management.
  • To raise purchase orders for replacement kit.
  • May require overnight stays across the UK.
  • To ensure compliance regarding Gamma policies and processes.
  • To share and document knowledge.

What you’ll need:

  • Be able to work onsite in our Manchester office - 5 days per week (M405BP).
  • Proven ability to multitask and be able to make assessments of urgency based on knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Able to manage time and work to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including Office 365, Active Directory and Exchange, Windows 10 onwards, network and connectivity.
