Who are we looking for? We are looking for a Technical Security Engineer to join our Group Security function. This role is ideal for a technically strong security professional who enjoys designing and delivering security solutions across a diverse technology landscape. You’ll act as a trusted subject‑matter expert, working closely with technology, engineering, and IT teams to ensure Gamma’s security controls and tooling are robust, effective, and future‑proof.
What will you be doing day‑to‑day?
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining technical security systems to protect Gamma’s products, applications, systems, and networks.
- Developing, maintaining, and improving security standards, controls, and procedures across the organisation.
- Working closely with Technology, Engineering, and IT teams to identify, assess, and resolve security risks and issues.
- Ensuring modern, best‑practice technical security approaches are applied across a broad and evolving technology stack.
- Acting as a key point of contact between Group Security Engineering and Security Operations during high‑priority security incidents.
- Serving as Gamma’s subject‑matter expert for security tooling and technical controls.
- Contributing to technical security thought leadership, helping to shape future security architecture and capabilities.
What you’ll need
Essential- Experience working within a technology‑driven organisation.
- Exposure to a broad range of technologies including Windows, Linux, containers, and cloud environments.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering technical security controls.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to understand complex environments and engineer effective security solutions.
- Sound decision‑making skills, able to recommend and justify appropriate security tooling and approaches.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and build strong working relationships across multiple teams.
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement.
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CySA+).
- GIAC (SANS) certifications.
- Telecommunications industry experience.
- Security engineering or systems administration background.
- Experience supporting projects and product teams to identify security gaps and define remediation plans.
- Development experience and familiarity with threat modelling, security frameworks (e.g. NIST CSF), and risk management.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
