Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level?
As Director of Platform Engineering, you will own the end-to-end delivery, leadership, and evolution of the Games Inc. platform. You’ll set the technical vision for the platform, define engineering standards, and ensure delivery teams are empowered to build at speed with confidence. This is a highly hands-on leadership role—you’ll combine architectural thinking with operational execution, mentoring engineers while shaping the long-term direction of the platform technology.
All You Need Is

• 8+ years in backend/platform engineering, with 3+ years at a Director or Head level at an iGaming slots provider or studio;
• Proven track record leading engineering organisations and scaling technical teams;
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and platform architecture;
• Experience modernising legacy systems while balancing delivery speed and stability;
• Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and high-scale NoSQL database design;
• Excellent communication skills—capable of bridging business and technical discussions;
• Hands-on and pragmatic: able to dive deep into technical detail while setting high-level vision.

Tech Stack

• Backend: Java, Typescript, NodeJS, Python;
• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, CloudFront, Route53), Linux, Docker;
• Databases: MongoDB;
• Monitoring & CI/CD: Github, Jenkins, TerraForm, CAdvisor, Prometheus, Grafana.

Your Daily Adventures Will Look Like

• Define and own the platform engineering roadmap, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and high performance;
• Lead the development and evolution of the core platform to support modular deployments, resilient services, and fast integrations;
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices across coding standards, DevOps, testing, and observability;
• Drive platform modernisation initiatives—reducing technical debt, stabilising core systems, and refactoring where needed;
• Oversee integration with operators, aggregators, and regulators, ensuring reliability and compliance across all markets;
• Partner with Product and Commercial teams to translate business needs into technical execution;
• Ensure strong governance around platform security, failover, disaster recovery, and compliance;
• Mentor and grow engineers and technical leads, fostering problem-solving and engineering excellence;
• Conduct regular reviews of platform performance, scalability, and resilience, addressing issues before they impact customers;
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve developer productivity, reduce complexity, and shorten time-to-market;
• Champion a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across platform engineering teams.
