Games Workshop has a brand new opportunity for a Materials Scientist to join the Research & Development team within our Manufacturing department. This exciting role will support Games Workshop to research, evaluate and deliver innovative solutions which enable design, production capabilities and sustainable initiatives within manufacturing.
As a Materials Scientist in the Manufacturing Research & Development team, you will play a pivotal role in driving advancements to ensure Games Workshop continues to make the best fantasy miniatures in the world in an efficient and sustainable manner. You will define testing and analytical requirements, identify suitable techniques or develop new techniques as required. Supporting capital investment projects, you will also be responsible for planning and executing robust experiments with a focus on data integrity and clarity. Providing technical guidance and training to technical and non-technical audiences, you will also work with test laboratories to ensure access to appropriate testing capabilities.
Responsibilities- Lead and contribute across the entire project lifecycle from initial concept through to implementation.
- Define testing and analytical requirements and identify or develop suitable techniques.
- Plan and execute robust experiments with a focus on data integrity and clear communication of results.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with test laboratories to ensure access to appropriate testing capabilities.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Applied Science, Chemistry or a related discipline (advantageous).
- Blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
- Willingness to work openly and collaboratively across teams; detail-oriented with a passion for delivering impactful results.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking. In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), a matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, a profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and the option to join our Share Save scheme. Staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products is also available.
