Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a General Ledger Accountant, initially on a 12 month contract. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering an efficient and effective accounting service, using their skills day in and day out to make Games Workshop even better!
With a strong attention to detail, you will prepare and review the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, ensuring thorough reconciliations that meet audit standards. You will also support the preparation of monthly, half year, and year-end accounts, ensuring submission of final figures to the group reporting team for consolidation.
Taking a methodical approach, you will need to navigate through financial complexity, taking responsibility for an individual Ledger, ensuring you constantly strive for integrity and accuracy within our accounting records.
We’re looking for someone with an inquisitive nature as you will need to understand your business area so commercial acumen combined with an ability to understand key business drivers within a complex setting will be key. We’ll rely on you to focus on continuous improvement, addressing systematic issues that may impact the ledger integrity by collaborating with IT and other departments.
You will be comfortable communicating effectively with staff at all levels of the business, being an excellent problem solver with a can-do attitude, and having both the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with an in-depth understanding of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, having previously worked within management accounting, financial accounting, or financial auditing. You will have a strong proficiency in Excel to an advanced level, including lookups and pivot tables, ideally with knowledge of D365.
If you want to be part of our exciting future, we want to hear from you!
At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills and experience.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking.
In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
