Our client is looking for a Game Designer who will be responsible for designing and developing our game. This position requires a combination of game design skills, technical knowledge, and a deep understanding of player engagement and game mechanics. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including artists, programmers, and producers, to create compelling and enjoyable gaming experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Game Conceptualization: Collaborate with the game development team to generate innovative and engaging ideas for mobile games. Translate high‑level concepts into detailed game design documents that outline the gameplay mechanics, rules, controls, progression systems, and monetization strategies.
  • Level and Content Design: Design and create challenges and other game content. Balance difficulty levels and progression to ensure an enjoyable player experience.
  • Gameplay Mechanics: Define and prototype core gameplay mechanics, including character movement, gameplay systems, interactions, and controls. Iterate on gameplay elements to achieve a balance between fun, challenge, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with our UI and UX designers to create intuitive and user‑friendly interfaces, menus, and navigation systems.
  • Game Balancing and Testing: Conduct playtesting sessions, analyse game metrics and player feedback to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
  • Monetization Strategies: Design effective and ethical monetization strategies, and develop in‑game economies and rewards systems that enhance player engagement.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including design documents, wireframes, flowcharts, and diagrams. Effectively communicate design concepts and requirements to the development team and stakeholders.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about mobile gaming industry trends, player preferences, and emerging technologies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Interactive Media, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven 4+ years of work experience as a game designer, specifically in mobile game development.
  • Experience with successful game releases (A to Z) on mobile platforms.
  • A solid understanding of the Unity Game engine.
