We are looking for a Mission Designer with experience from mid to principal level. A Mission Designer at Electric Square:

  • Strives to achieve the mission goals for the game
  • Creates clear and concise design documentation
  • Pitches mission designs and improvements in a clear and digestible way
  • Plans and implements mission beats in‑engine
  • Finds the fun and what makes a mission special
  • Maintains and balances the flow, difficulty and accessibility of missions
  • Confident in solving problems by working with other departments
  • Communicates effectively with others to align, playtest, iterate and improve missions
  • Reflects on and acts accordingly to feedback

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a designer working on missions
  • Worked on at least one AAA 3rd‑person action‑adventure game
  • Strong proficiency in design tools used in UE5 or an equivalent proprietary game engine
  • Knowledge of various support tools such as Miro, Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent bug diagnosis and debugging skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of melee and ranged combat in 3rd‑person action‑adventure titles
  • Experience with cinematic set‑pieces within missions

Skills:

  • Can concisely articulate mission ideas and analyse game mechanics
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with asking for and providing feedback
  • Able to manage time and workload effectively
  • Self‑motivated and takes initiative
