Your Mission
As a Senior Social Media Specialist for Blizzard franchises (including World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch), you will drive strategic and editorial management of UK and EMEA social channels. You will be responsible for delivering compelling, high-impact content that resonates with our players and reflects the voice of our franchises. You will bring a deep understanding of social media storytelling, editorial planning, and content ideation - paired with exceptional copywriting skills and a flair for tone of voice. You’ll also own planned and reactive newsroom-style content, with video skills considered a strong advantage. This role demands an experienced project leader and stakeholder manager who can coordinate across cross-functional internal teams and external agencies to deliver best-in-class campaigns and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the content strategy and publishing roadmap for Blizzard’s UK and EMEA social channels.
- Act as project lead or support across cross-functional activations (with Franchise, PR, Influencer, Legal stakeholders), ensuring alignment and timely execution.
- Originate and localise content based on player insights, with a strong editorial voice and creative flair.
- Drive both planned and reactive content creation, including real-time newsroom-style publishing.
- Collaborate with 1P and Xbox teams to amplify content and campaigns.
- Provide broader EMEA social support and coverage as needed.
- Monitor and report on sentiment and engagement metrics, using insights to optimise content and strategy.
- Engage directly with players across owned and earned channels, delivering high-quality 1:1 and 1:many interactions.
- Stay ahead of trends in gaming, pop culture, and digital media to inform content and engagement strategies.
- Represent Blizzard at community events and act as a brand ambassador online and offline.
Player Profile
- Proven experience managing social media channels and editorial calendars in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in content creation, copywriting, and tone of voice.
- Experience with digital design and video content creation and editing is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of Blizzard games and digital platforms (Meta, X, TikTok, YouTube).
- Passion for gaming, storytelling, and community engagement.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Success in Year 1
- Demonstrated growth in social KPIs and sentiment across UK and EMEA channels.
