Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development with an outstanding line of top published titles. It truly is an exciting and inspiring place to work in the heart of the beautiful Albert Docks, in Liverpool overlooking the harbour.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate creature concept artist who has at least two years studio experience to join our award-winning art team. This position requires an artist capable of conceptualizing monsters, beasts, and various incredible creatures for our AAA games.
Requirements
- Excellent understanding of form and function
- Great eye for composition, lighting, and colour theory
- Ability to work alongside design and production teams
- Create stunning creatures, beasts, and magical monsters that reflect the quality of our games
- Ability to multitask across various projects and produce concept art from stylized to photorealistic styles
- Strong illustration skills for effective and coherent concept and sketch art
- Self-motivated with a willingness to participate in multiple areas of game development
- Passion for video games and world-building, creatures, and characters
- Proficient in Photoshop
- Experience working with grey/white box drawing over development
- A portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for concept art
- Solid understanding of all aspects of concept art
- Strong traditional drawing skills with versatility in multiple drawing styles
