About us
GAME IS ON! is building the all-in-one platform for padel and racket-sports communities — tournaments, matches, trainings, coaches, and social features, shipped on iOS, Android, and web. We're a small, fast-moving team where your code reaches real players every week.
About the role
We're hiring a senior full-stack developer who's equally strong crafting polished cross-platform React interfaces and building robust Python APIs. You'll own features end to end — from the FastAPI endpoint to the React Native screen — set technical direction, and raise the bar for quality across the codebase. This is a fully remote role with high autonomy. This is a good chance to join an ambitious, fast-growing startup early — while the product and team are still taking shape. The work you do now will shape the foundation of the platform, and getting in at this stage means real influence, growth alongside the company, and a strong position to grow into a leadership or founding-level role as we scale.
What you'll do
- Lead and ship features across our React Native (Expo) app for iOS & Android and our React web app.
- Design and build REST APIs in Python (FastAPI), including the data layer and third-party integrations.
- Translate designs into clean, responsive, accessible UI with strong attention to detail and performance.
- Own client-side data fetching, caching, and state, real-time updates, and offline-friendly behaviour.
- Drive releases through the app stores (TestFlight / Play Store) and web deployments.
What we're looking for (Senior)
- 5+ years of professional full-stack experience, with a track record of shipping and owning production software.
- Expert-level React and TypeScript.
- Proven experience with React Native (ideally Expo and EAS) shipping to iOS and Android — and building responsive React web apps.
- Strong Python skills and experience designing APIs with FastAPI (or comparable; comfortable working in FastAPI).
- Solid grasp of REST API design, authentication, performance, and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
- Working knowledge of DevOps basics — Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deploying/maintaining apps on a cloud provider (AWS / GCP / similar).
- Comfortable with environment configuration, secrets management, logging/monitoring, and basic production troubleshooting.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote team, scope ambiguous problems, and deliver end to end.
- Clear written communication and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.
Nice-to-have
- Native modules, push notifications, and app-store release pipelines (EAS).
- SWR, WebSockets/real-time data.
- Strong cross-platform UX sensibility (handling iOS/Android differences gracefully).
- CI/CD, Docker, and cloud deployment experience.
- Interest in sports / padel, tournament mechanics is a big plus.
What we offer
- Real ownership and impact on a product used by a growing community.
- Fully remote work with flexible hours.
- A modern stack and the freedom to improve it.
- Salary - EUR 5000.
