Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the overall management and coordination of the project or programme.

You will work closely with project leads to ensure that projects are set up effectively and have accurate plans documentation.

  • Manage project controls, reporting to the Project Lead about the project status.
  • Develop project performance reports assisting in the management and tracking of plans, risk and coordination of workstreams.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that dependencies, risks, issues and milestones are accurately captured and escalated to senior colleagues so that they can be appropriately managed.
  • Support the planning and implementation of governance and assurance activities by setting up systems to ensure they are planned and scheduled well in advance.
  • Effectively help setup and coordinate reporting mechanisms, ensuring that teams are inputting to report to SRO and central performance.
  • Make recommendations on resource requirements to the Senior Project Manager/Programme manager (as appropriate).
  • Support the wider team with learning and development to embed good delivery and practice.
  • Follow the Gambling Commission's portfolio and project delivery frameworks and contributing towards its continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a project/programme environment.
  • Experience of stakeholder management and engagement at all levels (internal and external).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that is clear and concise.
  • Proven ability to identify risks and issues and to escape quickly whilst proposing solutions.
  • A solution orientated mindset with the ability to work at pace and cope with ambiguity.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, with an ability to appropriately re-prioritise and change as required to meet deadlines

Desirable criteria

  • Relevant project management qualification (APM, Prince 2, Agile)
  • Knowledge of Government Functional Standard for Project Delivery
  • Previous experience working in a Regulatory or Governmental organisation.
