Painter/Decorator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team on a subcontract (day rate) basis, normally 1-3 jobs per month. We are an Edinburgh based company, looking for someone local to the Glasgow area to take on work in an around Glasgow. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in painting & decorating and have excellent communication skills. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various projects. A valid driving licence is essential for this position as it may require travel to different job sites. Must be CIS registered.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks
• Select and mix colours to achieve desired shades and finishes
• Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with client specifications
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction painting and decorating
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A valid driving licence is required for travel between job sites
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £180.00-£190.00 per day

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Painting & Decorating: 10 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
