Overview
Position: Maintenance Service Planner (Aviation)
Location: Bournemouth
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Gama Aviation is a reputable business aviation company, working on both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. We have recently been selected to be an Authorized Service Centre by Embraer, which sets a high bar to join their global network. An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Service Planner to join the Engineering team based at our Bournemouth base facility. The role involves delivering the full life cycle planning process of base maintenance to achieve on-time, high-quality, and within-budget delivery of aircraft inputs across our UK sites, while working in partnership with the customer and internal teams and producing accurate customer service reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop and fully utilise operational processes to ensure efficient operational performance
- Provide customer service and act as the interface between the customer and the engineering team on-site
- Pre-input planning, work pack generation, check progression and work pack closure processes
- Control of completed work orders and certification documents, ensuring they are closed accurately, billed, and delivered to the customer to the required KPI
- Ensure customer requirements are understood and that the engineering response is planned, coordinated, and executed efficiently
- Liaise with customers daily, providing daily status reports on aircraft serviceability
- Engage with local operational teams to ensure smooth running of the department
- Participate in the quality audit programme and implement audit closure actions
- Report all SMS/Quality issues
- Perform other duties related to the position as directed by the line manager
- Provide briefings for engineering departmental management regularly
- Support the Quality & Safety team to ensure all processes and department tasks are fulfilled
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Experience of maintenance/production planning within an aviation or engineering environment
- A proven track record of flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability to changing environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and competence using IT; experience working with customer representatives
- Desirable: Working knowledge of Part 145/M regulations
- Experience with MRO planning software such as Corridor, TRAX or AMOS would be an advantage, but not essential
- Excellent educational background with a degree in Mechanical, Engineering, or Automotive
