As our operations continue to grow and expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Engineering Manager to join our team in the Lincoln area in support of an exciting project working on a line of twin‑turboprop Aircraft.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established Licensed Aircraft Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career, combining technical expertise with leadership responsibility. In partnership with the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in leading the engineering team, driving productivity, managing customer expectations and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of aircraft maintenance activities. You will take ownership of pre‑preparation, direct oversight and management of all maintenance inputs to the site as well as team performance and leadership. You will hold a UK CAA Part 66 B1 Licence with C rating, with the following aircraft type rating: Beechcraft King Air 300.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Contract end user for maintenance related enquiries and actions
  • Liaison with Contract partner for maintenance activity and represent the company as a subject matter expert (SME)
  • Attendance at meetings, as SME, with Contract stakeholders
  • Production of technical reports for OEM’s, Contract end user and Contract partners
  • Liaise with MRO for workforce allotment to satisfy customer maintenance requirements
  • Provide support to Sub‑Contracted Pt 145 Approved personnel
  • Manage the approvals of site based personnel including sub‑contracted Engineering Staff
  • Carry out scheduled Base and Line maintenance activities at the site (inc other Gama Aviation UK locations and overseas) and provide certification of own work alongside supervision and certification of unlicensed engineers work
  • Ensure the facility and all maintenance activities within it remain compliant with CAA/MAA and MRP.145 regulations
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence or in any instance seen fit by engineering leadership
  • Carry out reviews and authorise Maintenance Work Orders AOG activities at and away from the site
  • AOG on call (approx. 1 week in 3)
  • Compliance with GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition and published processes and procedures
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety procedures, processes and COSHH are observed at all times
  • Ensuring that day‑to‑day housekeeping is kept to a high standard

Essential Requirements:

  • An Unrestricted UK CAA B1 Part 66 License with C rating and a B200/300 type rating
  • Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams within aircraft maintenance environments
  • Significant aircraft base maintenance experience with a wide knowledge and skill range in servicing, inspection repair and modifications
  • Satisfactory recency as required for issue of applicable certifying approval
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a dynamic operational environment
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and customer service
  • Full UK Driving licence and possess a UK Passport
  • Medically fit to pass a company doctors examination
  • Prepared to travel overseas including CONDO locations to support the delivery of the contract
