/ Location: Glasgow Airport
/ Contract: Full-time
/ Shift Pattern: tbc
Gama Aviation is seeking qualified Ground Security Supervisors or experienced Ground Security Officers to join our FBO team in Glasgow. Dependant on the individual’s experience and skills, successful applicants will receive further training in FBO handling duties. We are looking for individual’s who are keen to become an integral part of the FBO operational and compliance structure, ensuring effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the company’s business activities. The role is responsible, on a shift basis, for the safe ground handling operation of company and third-party aircraft.

/ Responsibilities:
Security:
- Conducting physical searches of cabin/hold luggage, customers, staff and vehicles
- Conducting physical searches of in-flight supplies
- Body searching (pat-downs) of customers and staff
- Operating high-tech security equipment such as X-Ray machines and metal detectors
- Patrolling by foot or vehicle of premises and periphery
- Checking of staff and visitor passes to ensure authority to enter security areas.
- Greeting guests to ensure they receive the very best service
- Comply with the processes, policies and procedures incorporated in the Ground Handling Procedures Manual to handle business jet aircraft, crew and passengers
- Complete aircraft towing operations
- Complete aircraft refuelling operations including fuel quality checks
- Assist with the loading/unloading of business jet aircraft and air ambulance
- Facilitate security escorting of contractors as required
- Monitoring of FBO email box
- Monitoring, responding and actioning individual company email box
- All other duties as reasonably requested by line management
/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- Experience of working in an airport ramp environment is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a range of audiences, including management
- Well versed in following Standard Operating Procedures
- An efficient and organised personality
- Self-motivated and willing to learn and self-develop
- Good IT skills and basic knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to exercise time management to fulfil the role as directed
/ Security Requirements:
- Have good general health, reasonable strength and no physical incapacity which would prevent the undertaking of a range of aviation security duties
- Be able to pass a colour blindness test
- With or without vision aids be able to read a UK car registration plate at 23 meters distance
- With or without vision aids be able to read labels on bottles between 30 – 50 cm
- With or without an aid, be able to hear radio and telephone communications, audio signals emitted by security equipment, and an average conversational human voice at a distance of 2.5 metres in a quiet room
- Be free from dependence on alcohol or illegal substances
