Gama Aviation is currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant to join our expanding Engineering Team at our Staverton Facility, covering all Supply Chain functions for various ongoing projects within the Engineering Team. This role will be working as part of a rotational shift pattern that will ensure stores cover over 7 days a week, working 12-hour shift. In addition, there will be an occasional requirement to cover AOG shipments out of hours.

The Stores Assistant will be responsible for delivering all warehousing operations in support of the Staverton MRO and wider Gama contracts. Reporting to the Stores Supervisor in Staverton, the Stores Assistant shall be responsible for supporting the control of the Staverton warehouse and its associated tasks including (but not exclusively to) part storage and distribution, core and owe backs and the maintenance, calibration and the supply of tooling to the engineering workforce across the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business unit, Gama Aviation and its associated supported bases.
/ Responsibilities:
Warehousing
- Prioritisation of part receipt, selection and dispatch as required to meet the contract.
- Correctly storing and distributing of all of components.
- Ensuring the auditable and quality processes are met.
- Delivering the effect administration of all warehouse tasks inclusive of shelf life, stock rotation, calibration and goods in.
- Daily, weekly and monthly checks carried out in accordance with procedures.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and as working efficiently as possible.
- Ensuring all goods in processing is conducted in accordance aircraft regulations.
- Delivering the physical selection of, and completion of stock / tooling issues to Engineering.
- Making sure all Dangerous Goods (DG) are processed in accordance with with DG regulations.
- Ensuring the accurate and prompt administration of core returns from maintenance.
- Processing all rotables to the appropriate vendors avoiding penalty clauses.
- Ensuring contractual KPIs are met for receiving and delivery of spares.
- Delivering timely updates to the MRO Engineering Hub

/ Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- Experience within an aviation stores or warehouse environment is essential.
- A sound understanding of good warehousing practice
- Computer literate in warehousing software and IT.
- Ability to grasp new process and procedures, including MS Office Packages
- Ability to follow instructions efficiently and accurately (and unaided)
- Willingness to complete or already have an in date Dangerous Goods qualification
- Driving licence is a necessity and a willingness to use or already have forklift licence
- Flexibility in supporting the business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player and interactive
