Gama Aviation is a very reputable Business Aviation company, working on both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. We are continuing to grow and expand, with exciting contracts being secured! Our Kennington location is pleased to announce it will be incorporating the UK CAA approved Component Workshop in Q2. As a result of this, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Component Mechanics to join our team in Kennington, Oxford. Specialising in wheels and related repair work, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing essential aircraft components, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in compliance with industry regulations. You will have a great deal of responsibility with endless opportunity for impact and freedom for initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Certify and perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities on aircraft wheels and associated components.
  • Adhere to maintenance manuals, engineering instructions, and regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA Part 145 standards).
  • Clearly record on worksheets details of the tasks completed, accurately reflecting the works performed with time booking.
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and COSHH requirements.
  • Support the workshop team in achieving production schedules and performance targets.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work environment.
  • Comply with all procedures listed in the current Staff Company Handbook.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the position.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

  • A minimum of 2 years working in Aviation.
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a wheel component environment.
  • Relevant component training by the OEM or OEM authorised, or part 145.
  • Preferably held component certification privileges.
  • Preferably have a working knowledge of CAA regulations which applies to component overhaul/repair.
  • Preferably have NDI competence in Eddy Current and/or Penetrant Flaw Detection.
  • Strong attention to detail.
