Bond Helicopters are pleased to invite internal applications for the position of Trainee Mechanic within our dynamic engineering team in Norwich. This is an incredible opportunity that allows the successful individual to kick start their career within aircraft maintenance, developing and growing within a specialist role within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishment of work in accordance with approved data, for example maintenance manuals and company instructions and ensures stages of work are recorded legibly, dated and signed when accomplished.
  • Responsible for towing and positioning aircraft after the necessary training and qualifications.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of housekeeping standards for the work area, the facility as a whole and for personal standards.
  • Responsible for reporting to supervision or management any difficulties in accomplishing tasks.
  • Responsible for the formal reporting of any event that could result in an unsafe situation.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Essential:

  • An ability to absorb the training given and demonstrate an understanding of what is being taught, and why.
  • Personable and with the ability to interact with all skill sets and abilities with the MRO team.
  • Ability to step “back to basics” to enter the engineering team and learn on the job.
  • Ability to take instructions and carry them out, dealing with both positive and negative feedback on tasks performed.

Advantageous:

  • Good GCSE, A Level or college grades in Maths, Science and/or Engineering discipline.
  • An understanding of the basics of the CAA and the roles and responsibilities of engineering employees in the UK civil aviation environment.
  • Industry experience from another engineering discipline.
  • Previous hand skills in a maintenance environment.
