Position: Technical Instructor (Fixed Wing) – Part 66/145/147

Location: Bournemouth

Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per week

Due to the expansion of our Part 147 Training function, we are seeking an experienced Technical Instructor (Fixed Wing) responsible for delivering, maintaining, and creating training material within the Part-66/145/147 regulatory framework. We are looking for someone passionate about training and developing training materials. This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced aviation professional or Part 66 Licensed Engineer seeking an alternative career in aviation. You will have significant responsibilities with opportunities for impact and initiative. The role involves delivering training across multiple aviation subjects and supporting the development of our training portfolio. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver aircraft type courses and compliant training online and in person worldwide.
  • Assess training needs and develop suitable courses.
  • Develop key skills for delivering aircraft training courses.
  • Ensure training compliance.
  • Create and author training materials and documentation.
  • Serve as an examiner for aircraft types within Part-147.
  • Perform examination analysis and review exam questions.
  • Support audits of the training department.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of training delivery and processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Pursue personal development in technical training within aerospace.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Essential

  • Degree in aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or certification as a Part 66 Licensed Engineer, or qualification in adult learning, or relevant aviation training experience.
  • Experience within a Part-147, Part-145, or Part-21 environment, or as a Part-66 Licensed Engineer passionate about knowledge transfer, or equivalent instructing/teaching experience at A-level/HNC or above.
  • Ability to conduct type-rated courses on relevant aircraft types approved by CAA/EASA or other bodies.
  • Understanding of CAA/EASA Parts 66/145/147.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, adaptable, and able to handle pressure and change.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Eligibility to hold a CAA/EASA Form 4 position within Part 147.

Advantageous

  • QTS/QLTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience with Beechcraft King Air 300 series or Embraer 135/145.
  • Experience in delivering aircraft maintenance training.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Part 147 regulations.
  • Experience as an aeronautical type training instructor in a Part-147 environment.
  • Proficiency with aircraft maintenance documentation.
